Gorgonio Fire09 (Small) This fire was south of Banning, CA up along hwy 243. Started out as 2-3 fire’s that ended up burning together in steep terrain. Fire burned 650 acres. Pictures

Updated: Fire was mapped at 510 acres.

Due to the drier then normal winter we have had this year in Southern California, it could mean an early start to the fire season. The fuels are already starting to dry out, where we could start seeing fire’s early by the end of April and the start of May.  Link

Update: The Red Flag Warning’s and the Fire Weather Watches been canceled for San Bernardino and Riverside Counties.

Red Flag Warning’s go into effect Sunday night through Monday for the local mountains, and Fire Weather Watches posted for the inland valley areas due to northeast winds and low RH’s. Link

Red Flag Warning’s Posted

The season first Santa Ana wind event is expected to hit tonight and last through Saturday. A Red Flag Warning has been posted and along with a high wind warning, where wind gusts can reach as high as 65mph. For more on the Red Flag Warning go here
